The selection process for the Ocean Literacy initiatives of the Observatorio Oceanografico received 37 applications for 4 positions.

More than just numbers, this was a process into which we poured a lot of heart.

The Ocean Literacy initiatives of the Observatorio Oceanografico were born from an idea built over time, through many conversations, concerns, and the desire to bring the ocean closer to people. Now, seeing this project gain momentum is a source of great joy for all of us.

First of all, we deeply thank everyone who took part in the selection. Reading each motivation letter was a very special experience. In every journey, motivation, and expectation, it became clear that Ocean Literacy is alive, within the university, in schools, in communities, and in every person who believes that the ocean needs to be understood, cared for, and defended.

The preliminary results have already been sent to all candidates, as stated in the calls. After the appeal period, we will publish the final result and begin project activities.

The selected actions are part of a broader effort by the Observatorio Oceanografico to strengthen science communication, environmental education, climate literacy, and the relationship between university, schools, and society.

Soon, we will begin the work.

After all, the ocean does not wait.
