Prof. André L. Belém, from the Observatório Oceanográfico O2/UFF, is taking part in the 1st Integration Workshop of the Cooperation Agreements of Petrobras’ Geochemistry and Fluid Technologies Departments, held at Petrobras’ Research, Development and Innovation Center (CENPES), in Rio de Janeiro.
The participation is related to the activities of the Projeto Ressurgência – Fase 4 (PR4), developed in cooperation with Petrobras. In the project, André works especially on the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, exploring new approaches for the analysis and integration of data produced by the different research fronts.
From UFF, the meeting is also attended by Prof. Ana Luiza Spadano Albuquerque, from LAM+ – Laboratório Multiusuário do Instituto de Geociências, and Prof. Igor, from LOOP – Laboratório de Oceanografia Operacional e Paleoceanografia. The researchers are part of i3GEO, an initiative that brings together different research skills and infrastructure at UFF’s Instituto de Geociências.
Throughout the workshop, representatives from Petrobras and partner institutions discuss results, infrastructure, new technologies, and opportunities for integration among the different Cooperation Agreements. Among the activities, Ana Luiza takes part in a round table dedicated to success stories, sharing experiences from the cooperation between UFF and Petrobras.
The participation in the meeting strengthens the integration between the UFF groups involved in PR4 and expands the possibilities for applying new technologies, data analysis, and artificial intelligence in the research carried out in partnership with Petrobras.
