Presentation
Hello! My name is Gabriel Schimidel Ramos de Oliveira, I am 25 years old, and I am currently pursuing a degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF) 🎓. Since the early semesters of my undergraduate studies, I have developed a strong interest in Data Science applied to environmental sciences, with a particular focus on climatology, hydrology, and numerical modeling. I am especially interested in understanding how statistical techniques and Artificial Intelligence can contribute to solving environmental challenges 🤖🌱.
Currently, as an Undergraduate Research Fellow, I am conducting research focused on forecasting extreme wave events using machine learning 🌊💻. This project has provided me with a deeper understanding of how machine learning models can be applied within the environmental field.
In my free time, surfing and the ocean are my greatest passions, whether I am practicing the sport or simply following it 🏄. I also enjoy spending time at home with my dog, Caramelo 🐾, and my family. Whenever possible, I like to use my free time to watch TV series and anime, play video games, and study topics that interest me 📚.
