Hey, Rian here! 👋

My name is Rian Gouveia, and I’m an undergraduate student in Telecommunications Engineering at the Federal University of Fluminense (UFF). In this field, I’ve been exploring my interests in technology, applied computing for solving real-world problems, and scientific applications of programming. My journey began back in high school, where I attended a technical program in Telecommunications—an experience that strengthened my interest in the tech field and in how engineering and science can work together to develop solutions with real-world impact.

I’m currently part of the Oceanographic Observatory (O2), where I’m working to develop skills in research, programming, and data analysis applied to science using artificial intelligence.

Outside of the university setting, I enjoy exploring new technologies (and spending hours taking apart and fixing old devices), learning programming tools, and following content related to science and innovation. Just think of the Ninja Turtle Donatello—it’s hard not to see some similarities. Furthermore, I believe that technology becomes even more powerful when used to produce accessible knowledge, by reinventing, restructuring, or even reviving technologies considered “obsolete” by the market. After all, nothing in nature is lost; everything is transformed.
