Hi there, I’m Sofia! 🐟
I’m currently in the 7º semester of my Environmental Science degree 🌱. As I approach the final stages of my undergraduate studies, I have come to recognize the importance of knowledge dissemination and public policies in ensuring democratic access to the environment. I am particularly interested in topics related to environmental education, sustainability, and environmental law.
I am part of the Oceanographic Observatory (O2) as a scholarship student in the extension project Ocean Literacy Initiatives: Training, Education, and Society (ICO-FES), which focuses on empowering individuals to act as multipliers of ocean knowledge in different educational and social contexts.
My experience as a scholarship student began last year through the UFF Monitoring Program, where I served as a teaching assistant for three courses within my program. Through this experience, I developed several skills, including public speaking and the creation of educational materials, which I continue to apply and refine in my work with ICO-FES.
When I’m not at the university or at O2, you’ll probably find me exploring museums, parks, restaurants, and bookstores in downtown Rio de Janeiro. More often than not, though, I’m at home working on my undergraduate thesis or nurturing my artistic side 🎨.
